Prophetic word by Steve Thompson on November 24th 2002 (literal)
You know, I felt different things. But I knew this was a strong message. And so, but I could never get anything clear on it. I could never understand what it meant. And as we were driving back to the hotel yesterday, I looked out my window, and I saw three rocks rising up out of the body of water. Identical to what I had seen in the vision. A large one, a medium one and then a small one. And then right immediately behind those rocks and that little body of water, is a building that is the Center for Light and Architecture, isn’t that right? It was great I could read the Dutch, very easy to read. And so I began to inquire of the Lord and He began to show me some things. But as I came in here this morning, He spoke more clearly. And this is what He says.
God is raising you up as a witness of light and architecture. Light in Scripture speaks of truth, speaks of enlightenment, understanding. God is raising you up as a witness of new understandings in the church and the Kingdom of God. And also a witness of architecture, a new way to design and build in the church and the Kingdom of God. You are a prophetic church, not just a church that understands prophecy. You are a forerunner-church. You’re being raised up as a prophecy, as a testimony. You’re being raised up like a rock out of water, something solid in the midst of something unstable. I believe that the three rocks that the Lord has given you are Worship and Intercession, the Prophetic and Liberty and Opportunity.
Worship and Intercession you understand. The Prophetic you understand. But this other part that is extremely important is this idea of Liberty and Opportunity. I am so touched when I see you. Because of how much you all have grown, in the anointing, in the presence of God. I am stunned by what I find among you. But it comes because the leadership of this church has a heart to provide liberty and opportunity for others. Now, I do not know this in the natural. But I believe the Lord is showing me one of the reasons there has been accusation raised up against this church. I believe one of the accusations that came against the leadership of the church here, was that people could not support the leadership. Because they felt like the leadership wasn’t taking up a strong enough stance and it was allowing people to do too much. And that is one of the reasons they said they could not support leadership. But that is the very reason that the Lord will support the leadership of this church, because of the giving of liberty and opportunity. It’s a new thing, it’s a new day. But that is what is solid, that is the rock rising above the water.
I want to tell you how much I love Ferry, how much I appreciate him. When we were communicating about the conference, Ferry mentioned that there would be like today, speaking at different congregations. And I asked him, I said: “Do you want us, do you have ideas, where you would like different ones of us go? Or can we follow the Lord?” It’s a big trick question. And he said: “Well, we would like to have you share in our congregation. But follow the Lord. This is our desire.” And then he sent another email to me very quickly and said this. He said: “I’m sorry that I asked for you to speak in our congregation.” He said: “If the students would like to share in our congregation, we would love to have them come. Because this is about them, their training and their prize”. That is why I love Ferry. It’s wonderful, it’s a heart, it’s the heart of the father’s turn to the children. It’s someone understanding their calling in the church is to serve people and to provide opportunities for them. To still be strong and lead, but to provide liberty and opportunity. I am so encouraged by what I find. It is powerful. And so I believe the days ahead, the Lord is going to let you see who you really are. That you will have confidence in His calling on your life. And you will be that prophetic church, showing new light and a new design for the church. So everytime you drive past that, you think about the prophecy the Lord gave you. Amen? And you will feel like an island at times. You understand isolated? But push past that, that is just the burden of leadership. Amen?
“Lord, I just ask You to move through this place, to bring refreshing. Lord, I ask that You will renew strength. Lord, that you would just bring about a sense of lightness, a sense of joy and refreshing. Lord, I thank You for it. Lord, I thank You for refreshing in our mind. Lord, that there will be ongoing, growing joy among everyone in this congregation. Lord, that You will seal their minds with Your joy and Your peace. And we thank You for it. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
